Centella asiatica or( gotu kola )is a small herbaceous annual plants native to Asia and northern Australia. Centella asiatica can eat raw as a salad leaf. Centella asiatica is thought to help maintain youthfulness, wound healing, relieve hypertension. In Thailand cups with Centella asiatica leaves juices are in common. A decoction of juice from the leaves is thought to relieve hypertension. This juice is also used as a general tonic for good health.
A poultice of the leaves is also used to treat open sores. Interestingly. Several scientific reports have documented Centella asiatica's ability to aid wound healing which is responsible for its traditional use in leprosy. Upon treatment with Centella asiatica, maturation of the scar is stimulated by the production of type I collagen. The treatment also results in a marked decrease in inflammatory reaction and myofibroblast production. The isolated steroids from the plant have been used to treat leprosy. In addition, preliminary evidence suggests that it may have nootropic effects. Centella asiatica is used to re-vitalize the brain and nervous system, increase attention span and concentration, and combat ageing. Centella asiatica also has anti-oxidant properties and it works for venous insufficiency

Centella asiatica Herbal Tea.
I've tried many different teas in the UK & abroad. When I lived in London, I had many Japanese friends there who made excellent green tea--but until now I couldn't find one to rival theirs. This one does. It's an excellent taste and certainly not bitter--even if you steep it overlong. The bags are interesting too. My only problem is that this herbal tea doesn’t have the string in attached to the middle of each bag
